Paytm's Governance Changes


Fintech leader Paytm has taken significant steps by cutting ties with its payments bank arm, Paytm Payments Bank (PPBL). This move aims to enhance operational independence between the parent company, One97 Communications, and PPBL. Going forward, both entities will operate independently. The decision follows mutual evaluations by the company boards. Earlier arrangements between One97 and PPBL, including technology services and brand sharing, are terminated. This step addresses regulatory concerns and emphasizes an arm’s length relationship between the entities.

NITI Aayog has launched the Greening and Restoration of Wasteland with Agroforestry (GROW) report and portal. The report highlights the need to restore 26 million hectares of degraded land by 2030. India possesses approximately 55.76 million hectares of wastelands, which can be restored through agroforestry.
